ABOUT

Cody teaches out of his home in Poulsbo, WA. He moved to the PNW in 2022 from Central Appalachia, having studied music education at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise from 2008 to 2012. There, he performed in a wide variety of large and small ensembles, including the Mountain Empire Symphony Orchestra, and tutored younger performers in schools around Southwest Virginia and Eastern Kentucky. Since then, he’s continued to perform with bands ranging from Classic Country and Bluegrass to Funk and Heavy Metal.

He moved to Asheville, NC after college and joined a country band called The Maggie Valley Band, who paid homage to legends like Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson. They toured the east coast together from the Grovetown, GA “Banjobque” festival to Toronto, ON.

Here in Washington, he’s formed an Irish Folk band with a group of newfound friends, and hopes to inspire some new musicians to follow the music!
